first_imgThe Las Palmas Sports Union has communicated the death of Aurelio Campa, former player of the yellow team in two different stages, and winner of two consecutive league championships with Real Madrid in the 1950s.Campa, who was acting as a defense, was born in 1933 in the capital of Spain and also defended Betis, Badajoz and Granada.At Real Madrid he was proclaimed a league champion in the seasons 1953-54 and 1954-55, and he also won a Latin Cup. With the UD Las Palmas he debuted on May 6, 1956 in a Cup match against Atlético de Madrid, being coach of the island team Satur Grech.He played a total of 25 games with the yellow team, and the last one against San Fernando de Cádiz, in the 1960-61 season, after four consecutive campaigns after arriving in a second stage from Granada, where he had won the League Second Division.“The UD Las Palmas wants to express its deepest regret to close family and friends,” said the island club in a statement published on its official website.last_img
