Five Southland Track & Field Athletes Earn All-American Honors
Anderson Peters and Nicolas Quijera of Mississippi State took the top two finishing spots with distances of 271-08.00 (82.82m) and 263-02.00 (80.21m), respectively. Northwestern State’s 4x100m relay team of Ki’Ave Harry, Micah Larkins, Amir James and Tre’Darius Carr advanced to the finals, finishing seventh with a time of 39.63. 2018 NCAA Outdoor Championships Results (PDF)EUGENE, Ore. – A total of five Southland Conference student-athletes brought NCAA All-American honors home from the 2018 Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships this weekend. Southeastern Louisiana’s Adrian Williams came away with second team distinction after taking 12th place in the javelin, reaching a mark of 223-01.00 (68.01m). Houston registered a collegiate record 38.17 winning time. Ohio State was more than a half-second back with Florida third (38.89) as everyone but the Cougars ran significantly slower than in Wednesday’s blistering semifinal round. Arkansas took fourth in 39.01, followed by Florida State (39.37), Southern Mississippi (39.49) and NSU (39.63).
