first_imgKlopp deflects agent comments on Liverpool exit: It was German humour!by Freddie Taylora month agoSend to a friendShare the loveJurgen Klopp has brushed off comments from his agent saying he could leave Liverpool because of the weather. The Liverpool manager’s agent Marc Kosicke suggested in a recent interview that Klopp could be tempted to switch Merseyside for a hotter destination.Speaking on the eve of Liverpool’s Champions League opener against Napoli, Klopp said: “There is nothing in that story.”He wanted to make a joke so now I have to be serious.”It is German humour but obviously nobody got it…I am completely fine with the weather.”Let me spell it out, the weather has never been a reason for me to choose a city and it’s certainly not a reason for me to leave the country.”Maybe at the moment (in England) it’s the most healthy weather in the world – we have enough rain, it’s cool, pretty much the opposite of this room!”There’s nothing in that story. He’s my agent and my friend.”When I speak about the weather it was about the wind which can have an effect on football, but that is not allowed in England. But that is not to a reason leave the country. I am fine.” TagsTransfersAbout the authorFreddie TaylorShare the loveHave your saylast_img read more

first_img‘Rest in Peace’ is a term much in popular use and is sighted characteristically on the social media portals. Whenever a known person departs for their heavenly abode, members of a particular social media group immediately take to expressing sorrow and grief and quote “RIP”. Thi has actually become a social ritual. But the person for whom this ‘RIP’ is being used has no effect from such expressions. One fails to understand what the actual usage of such expression is. Then why it is being used at all? The mind seeks an answer to this logical question. Also Read – A special kind of bondTo understand this aspect a little more in depth, one needs to understand the basics of the Sanatham Dharma which is largely in practice by the majority of people in this country. It is believed that there is only one great soul which is referred to as the “Paramatma”, the God, the Father. Each and every living creature is part of this God and ‘Atma’ present in each human and other living creatures are always eager to get attached to the ‘Parmatma’, whenever it leaves the physical form. The body is like the clothing which one keeps changing and the ‘Atma’ never dies, it never ceases to exist. Hindus and some other believers across the world subscribe to the notion of rebirth and reincarnation. At the end of one’s physical life graph, the balance sheet of the good and bad deeds decide the fate and the course of the next birth. More good deeds clocked by one during their lifetime means a better life in the following rebirth. It is directly proportional to the quality of the next life. It is the effect of ‘Karma’. Human life is the supreme one among all living beings. The ultimate ‘Moksha’ can only be attained through human life. ‘Moksha’ refers to the end of the life cycle when the soul is permanently attached to Parmatama and finally merges it with. There is no reversal here, no rebirth that one must undertake after the Moksha is attained. India is a land of Rishis, Munis, and Sadhus and noble souls always thriving to attain Moksha. Kaliyug (the age we are living in today) makes room for some dilution of the spiritual values. Nevertheless, spiritually elated people in each and every city, town, and villages of India are constantly seeking the ultimate Moksha and leading a simple and spiritually rich life towards achieving the main aim to attain Moksha by means of ‘Tapasya’. Also Read – Insider threat management”Hinduism” is arguably the oldest socio-religious way and dictum to lead life. It is rather a way of life more than a religion and is followed by Christianity and Islam. Unlike Hinduism where after death, the body the dead is burned, in Christianity and Islam, it is buried. In Hinduism, it is believed that as soon as the heart stops, the soul or the “Atma” leaves the body and gets attached to the ‘Parmatma’ or God. In Christianity and Islam, a person’s dead body is buried and both these faiths don’t believe in rebirth. Thus, the ‘Rest In Piece’ concept evolved with burial practiced in Christianity and Islam. Adaptation and exchange of good values across faiths and religious systems will improve the quality of life and enrich it. At the same time, it is to be remembered that such an exchange should not dilute or erase one’s own values or hurt one’s faith which should not be overshadowed by such adaptations. So, RIP all faiths and religions without blurring the basic tenets of one another! (The writer is a senior Veteran Officer of IAF, and former Additional Director General, Prasar Bharti. first_imgDivyenndu is one of those actors who gets into the skin of the character he plays, brings it to life on screen and makes his audience feel every emotion that the character is experiencing. That is why as much as we love the aggressive yet sweet Liquid of ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnaama’, the evil Munna Bhaiyya from ‘Mirzapur’ fills our heart with anger and hate. To prove his acting skills yet again, Divyenndu is back with Zee5’s feature film ‘Badnaam Gali’ and Season 2 of ‘Mirzapur’. Read what he has to say about playing two entirely different characters at the same time. Also Read – An income drop can harm brainHow is it to work on two different characters at a time (in Mirzapur and Badnaam Gali). My character in ‘Mirzapur’ is entirely different from what I am playing in Badnaam Gali, and it is tricky to keep the two worlds separate. It gets even more difficult when I have group reading and rehearsal sessions for ‘Mirzapur’ and Badnaam Gali happening simultaneously. Though I can’t do much about it, I try and concentrate on one project at a time and not think about the other. This helps in keeping things sorted to an extent. Also Read – Shallu Jindal honoured with Mahatma AwardPeople have high expectations from you after ‘Mirzapur’. Does that scare you? I actually don’t think about anything apart from my work. I believe in honesty and 100 percent involvement. That is why audience’s expectations don’t scare me, instead they inspire me to improve my craft. Moreover, I think, as actors, our only job is to work hard and enjoy every bit of what we do. Do you agree that web platforms give more artistic freedom to the actors. How? Yes, I totally agree with it as web platforms have no restrictions or rules. There is all the freedom to present a story in whichever way you want. Also, unlike movies, you don’t have to be worried about the weekend’s collection. You don’t compete with anybody and anything. All these factors have made web actors more fearless and creative, thereby giving them the scope to explore and experiment. If given a choice between web shows and movies, what will be your pick? That’s really difficult! But honestly, the platform doesn’t really matter to me. I would have been equally excited to play Munna Bhaiyya if ‘Mirzapur’ had been a film. It’s not the medium but the content that tops my checklist. I pick projects according to the content, character, and story. What’s your most prized possession? It might sound like a cliché but people who like and appreciate my work have a belief that ‘if this guy (me) is there in the film, then there must be something special about the project’. This appreciation towards my work…towards my craft… is what I value the most. Your feature film Badnaam Gali revolves around surrogacy – an extremely sensitive topic. Did you have inhibitions while signing a film, which discusses surrogacy in a humourous way? Not really, because it totally depends on the intention of makers and how they want to present it. What hit me was the fact that it is important for us to talk about things like surrogacy as normally as possible, without considering it a taboo. It is not something to be ashamed of, rather it’s a great way to give hope to couples who can’t have a child due to biological issues. Tell us about your character in the film. On a scale of 0-10, how challenging was it? It was quite challenging because I was playing a Punjabi guy who comes from a well to do family and is extremely confused in life. For somebody who is not a Punjabi, it is challenging to get the dialect right and maintain the essence. I had to pay attention to minute details and that consumed a lot of energy. So, I would say it was 8/10 for me. The story is focused on Patralekha’s character. Was it difficult to make your character look equally prominent? Not really! The story justifies both the roles equally. The story is about how Randeep Singh Sodhi (played by Divyenndu) comes to this Badnaam Gali and meets Patralekha (who is playing a surrogate mother). It revolves around how people have different opinions about her, consider surrogacy as a taboo, and create negative views in their mind. Randeep stands along with her all the while and appreciates her effort in helping couples who are biologically incapable of having a baby. So, both the characters are equally important for the story to progress.last_img read more

first_imgBerlin- European champions Bayern Munich set a new record for the longest unbeaten run in Bundesliga history with a 3-0 victory at home to Augsburg on Saturday.Bayern have now gone 37 league matches since their last defeat, at Bayer Leverkusen in October 2012, breaking Hamburg’s previous record of 36 from January, 1983.“The record is unbelievable, it’s not easy to go 37 games without defeat. Congratulations to the club,” said Bayern coach Pep Guardiola, who took charge in June. “I have noticed that every game is a lesson for me in understanding my team.”Guardiola’s Bayern face their biggest test in a fortnight when they travel to second-placed Borussia Dortmund in a repeat of last season’s Champions League final.“Dortmund will be a good, good test for us and our level,” added Guardiola.Guardiola also set a personal record as he celebrated his 12th league match without defeat — the best start by a new Bundesliga coach in the league’s history with 32 points. The Champions League holders opened the scoring at Munich’s Allianz Arena when Germany centre-back Jerome Boateng headed home from a corner after just five minutes.France winger Franck Ribery then smashed home a direct free-kick on 42 minutes before Germany’s Thomas Mueller netted a penalty in the fifth minute of injury time.Bayern, who have won 31 of their last 37 Bundesliga matches, were without Germany’s Bastian Schweinsteiger, who will miss the forthcoming internationals against Italy and England with an ankle injury. It was Bayern’s second milestone of the week after they equalled Barcelona’s record from the 2002/03 season of nine consecutive Champions League wins with a 1-0 at Viktoria Pilsen.Breaking records is nothing remarkable for Bayern these days having set or equalled 25 league records under Guardiola’s predecessor Jupp Heynckes last season.Heynckes stood down in May, with his side unbeaten in their previous 25 league games, after Bayern won the treble of European, cup and Bundesliga titles last season.Bayern also extended their lead at the top of the table to four points as second-placed Borussia Dortmund went down 2-1 at VfL Wolfsburg. It was Dortmund’s second defeat of the week after losing to 1-0 at home to Arsenal in the Champions League. After Germany winger Marco Reus put Dortmund ahead with a thunderbolt of a free kick on the stroke of half-time, Wolves hit back to pick up their fourth straight victory to leave them fourth.Swiss defender Ricardo Rodriguez smashed home a free kick before Croatia striker Ivica Olic hit a great goal in off the far post with 20 minutes left.“We gave away too many free-kicks, which allowed the opposition some practive in taking them,” lamented Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp, adding centre-back Neven Subotic has a suspected cruciate knee injury.“Olic’s goal was a dream. It should have been blocked, but that didn’t happen. Neven Subotic’s injury is terrible news.”last_img read more

first_img Posted: March 12, 2019 March 12, 2019 KUSI Newsroom, SAN DIEGO (CNS) – Two transients were behind bars today on suspicion of fatally stabbing 63-year-old Marjorie Gawitt during a predawn residential burglary in a neighborhood near Agua Hedionda Lagoon.Ian Forrester Bushee, 37, and 26-year-old Malissa Deanna James were arrested late Monday morning a few blocks from the site of the slaying of Carlsbad resident Marjorie Gawitt, according to police.Gawitt made a 911 call about 12:30 a.m. Monday to report that she had been badly wounded in an assault at her home in the 1800 block of Outrigger Lane, Lt. Greg Koran said. Medics took the mother of three to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead about an hour later.Investigators believe that Bushee and James — both of them on probation in connection with a burglary in San Bernardino County — broke into Gawitt’s home, where at least one of them stabbed her before the pair stole her car and fled.Deputies found the vehicle abandoned on Grand Avenue in San Marcos about five hours after the fatal assault occurred, sheriff’s Lt. David Buether said. Shortly before noon Monday, the suspects were captured in an open, brushy area off the 4800 block of Park Drive, about one-tenth of a mile from the victim’s home.Last April, the suspects were arrested after a homeowner in Upland walked in on them as they were allegedly ransacking the victim’s home, according to The Press-Enterprise in Riverside. The pair allegedly fled with thousands of dollars worth of jewelry and electronics, including $70,000 in collectable coins stuffed in a sock.Late Monday evening, Bushee and James were booked into county jail on suspicion of murder, burglary, conspiracy and auto theft. They were being held without bail pending arraignment, scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
